Whether you lead a business, nonprofit, or public agency, collaboration with your local chamber builds your professional network and increases the visibility of your organization.
The San Lorenzo Valley Chamber of Commerce & Tourism is a membership organization with an elected board of directors. We work hand-in-hand with state and local officials to support policies that benefit our members.
How can joining one help my business?
Let’s look at four advantages:
Networking: Whether at one of our community events, networking mixers, ribbon cuttings, or business building workshops you’ll meet other business owners and organization leaders with whom you can form valuable business relationships.
Publicity: We list your organization in our online directory, a print directory, and throughout the year on social media. You can also increase your publicity by sponsoring events and taking advantage of local publication advertising discounts.
Consumer Confidence: Did you know that customers think more favorably of businesses that are affiliated with a chamber of commerce? A study by The Schapiro Group and Market Street Research found “that if respondents know that a small business is a member of its local chamber, the business enjoys a 44% increase in its consumer favorability rating, a 51% increase in consumer awareness, a 57% increase in its local reputation, and a 63% increase in the likelihood that consumers will patronize the business in the future.”
Advocacy: We strongly support the interest of our members. When regulations are proposed at the government level, we get involved to advocate for you. If you see that there is a problem that needs to be addressed, bring the issue to your chamber. And, as a chamber member, you can participate in advocating for our mountain businesses.
